In 2015, the Ministry of Health and the Green Crescent announced the “Green Detector” application, which is a new mobile application that allows citizens to warn health teams about indoor smoking ban violations. This initiative, which aims to defend people's smoke-free space rights through a mobile application and to strengthen the inspection capacity of the Ministry of Health, reached millions of users in a short time.
As the Force & Brothers team, we supported the development of the coordination mechanism of the Green Detector and the Ministry of Health inspection system in 2019 and we have provided systematic and sustainable approaches for better implementation of smoke-free airspace in Türkiye.
We have monitored the compliance with the smoke-free space both in terms of Green Detector users and businesses, and presented our recommendations to the World Health Organization in reports.
