Just like people, companies have a life cycle consisting of birth, growth and death phases. It is impossible for these human-like structures not to have a brain. However, the “brain” phenomenon meant for the organization is not the know-how inside, but the memory of that institution. To put it simply, the cleaner, more robust and independent a company's processes and database are, the more smoothly the company's brain works. Organizations that do not meet these simple basics are those that are closer to the 'death' side of the cycle.
All the positive and negative things a company does are naturally the experiences of the company. Of course, improving the acquisitions from negative experiences seems to be the most important step for the company at first. However, it is much more important in the long run to process these experiences as a whole into institutional memory. Corporate Memory is the entirety of companies storing all kinds of information/documents and documents from customer information, expert pool, suppliers and purchases in a way that can be easily accessed and creating processes that cover them.
Taking a step towards Corporate Memory can be difficult, especially for advanced companies. Because in companies with a high operational load and high number of employees, everything can change at any time and concepts such as corporate memory creation/digital transformation can be put in the background. In 2020, estimated revenue loss due to failed digital transformations worldwide is $900 Billion.
For this reason, the earlier the corporate memory creation process is designed, the easier the company's digital transformation will be. However, even if it is late, this process should definitely be added to the company's medium-long-term goals. According to a study by KPMG, 94% of the institutions they work with think that the use of artificial intelligence has a very important place in the competition between organizations, while more than 60% of these companies state that they actively use smart automation technologies. After the COVID-19 pandemic, more concrete steps have been taken regarding digital transformation due to the increase in the remote working habits of company employees.
In order to manage the crisis in terms of education, on the one hand, the demand-side pressure on the education infrastructure is reduced by building new schools, while on the other hand, the system is tried to be strengthened with comprehensive schooling and support projects for existing schools. The campaign for the schooling of Syrian children has started to bear fruit in the last 5 years. According to MoNE General Directorate of Lifelong Learning, the schooling rate of Syrian refugee children increased from 30% in 2015 to 64% in 2021. Moreover, during these years, the age population increased from 750 thousand to 1.2 million. It would be meaningful to consider the issue of schooling not only as education but also as reducing social risk. In this respect, Türkiye's intervention in the refugee crisis in terms of education is also a supporter of a comprehensive social policy.
